Caring and Sharing

While so many of us love making things for ourselves and our families, many in the Lion community go further, creating for those in need. Join us in this section and be touched by these true stories of caring and sharing submitted by Lion Brand readers.

Touching Little Lives

There's something wonderful and rewarding about using my hands to create "things" out of a strand of yarn! Every project is an adventure because I never truly know until the very end what the finished items will look like!

Recently I read an article about "Touching Little Lives" ... a charitable organization which makes blankets and clothing for premature and newborn babies. Finished items are then donated to local hospitals where they are given, free of charge, to families of these infants.

The demand is much higher than we are able to provide so an ongoing appeal is made for others to join hands with us to make these items for struggling babies. Once a month the various chapters of TLL meet to deliver what we have made during the month, exchange patterns, teach each other new stitches, experiment with new yarns, pick up supplies of donated yarns and renew friendships. It is a joy to be a part of this group and I know it brings much comfort to families of struggling newborns.
