Crafts for Christ

Two years ago I made an afghan while on a trip to the western part of the US. I made a large Granny square because I have crocheted many of them before. When I got home, I had no real use for the afghan as I already had enough in my home. The problem - what to do with items for which I had not real need.
I got togther with several other ladies at my church and formed a group to make things for Christ, for a purpose. We now make preemie and baby hats for the local hospitals,and have made booties for a medical clinic. We also make afghans for those in the nursing home and prayer shawls for those with long-term illness, family deaths, and other crisis situations.
Now I can knit and crochet to my hearts desire and know that someone will benefit from my hobby. I also pray as I make the items, which has brought me closer to God.
