I too have started knitting prayer shawls. After a story shared by some one in our Church who found out she had a lump on her breast, called her cousin and ask for he and his Church to pray for her. Within a short time his church sent her a shawl. It came on a day when she had just gotten home from a radiation treatment. She said it really lifted her spirits that day.
I have one about finished that will be given to someone in need in the next couple of weeks. I was able to encourage seven other people in my Church to do this and hopefully, alot more will get excited when they see the comfort a shawl brings for those who need an uplift and know that people they don't even know care about them.
