All Saints Lutheran Prayer Shawl Ministery
Created By: Jean Simmons

Our Prayer Shawl ministery at All Saints has been in existence for three years. We started with the guidance of Glori Dei Lutheran Church. To date we have sent prayers & shawls to over 75 people. We meet every two months and share our thoughts and beautiful thank you notes we receive, the cards and letters of thanks are more than you can ever imagine.

Our women all agree the blessings have been ours as much as those we give the shawls to.

We have also been giving what we call prayer bears. They are small teddy bears that we knit a scarf for and send to infants and small children when we see a need.

Much of our yarn is donated, and we seem to find our favorite to be HOMESPUN.

Seeing how this has taken off the church has even allowed us money in the budget. We mail to any place people request. Our furest has been a shawl to Africa, which was delivered by a intrim pastor from our church.

Several time a year the Shawls are brought to church for a blessing, this is an oppertunity for the members to see the shawls and remind them that we exist and want to help in any way we can. We have placed several boxes around the church with request cards in them for people to use.

We do have a series of prayers that we use as we knit or crochet, and of course at our meeting when the ladies bring the shawls we have a hands on prayer for all. We find it a good idea to also remember those who have received shawls already

Ladies you can't go wrong, every stitch you knit is a blessing to you as well as those you create for
