Much To Be Thankful For
Created By: Angelika Headlee
In August of 2003 I was given a prayer shawl from a friend at church. I was just completing chemo for lunng cancer. She brought the shawl to church and had the minister and some of the congregation bless the shawl before it was given to me. I was so shocked and overwhelmed..no one ever made me anything except my Mom, because that's what Mom's do. I was so intrigued with Prayer Shawls I went to the web site collected all the information I could and started making Prayer Shawls. Today it is November 2, 2007 and I have helped to start 8 different churches to do prayer shawls in the US and abroad. I started a group of ladies at the church who help me with the shawls. I myself have knitted 185 shawls the church has distributed 250 shawls and I have now included with the ministry sweaters for homeless kids. Amazing what a little yarn and prayer will do.
