After years
Created By: Jean Phillips

After years of watching my Grandmother (Ma Ma to us,I am one of 4 girls, my Mom is an only child, my sisters do not craft) I finally got her to teach me to crochet. I was around 8 or 10. I picked up on it and most of the time would just do her projects, because I would stay with her most summers. The best part was when she came home from a trip with a flower motif and no pattern. I can look at some crochet patterns and copy it, then she made me an afghan of this flower motif.

I taught myself to knit when our daughter was born in 1985 using one of the " I Taught Myself to Knit " books. 1985 was the first time ribbon yarn was introduced in my area and I made a pullover vest, last year I picked up the continental method and found it faster and holding the yarn is more like crochet.

I now do both, for Baby Showers I knit blankets, booties and hats, sometimes crochet. I knit continental and it is faster so the blankets go very fast. For Weddding Showers I try to add a dis cloth to the gift.

I LOVE BOTH ! ! !

I LOVE the free patterns on the LION site, because I live 30 minutes from the nearest store.
