Knitting therapy

I had learned the basics of knitting from my grandmother but had not done much knitting since learning. In April of 2005 I decided to get back into knitting after reading Debbie Macambers "The Shop On Blossom Street" I signed up for knitting classes at my local Michaels store. I not only relearned quickly but our knitting clas was becoming a close group of friends. I know God put knitting back in my life and hooked me up with this special group of women for a reason. In July 2005 right after our 13th wedding anniversary, my husband was diagnosed with pancriatic cancer and passed away only a month after diagnosis. I was able to spend every night in the hospital right along side my husband until the end and only prayr & knitting kept me focused and strong. My saturday knitting class at Michaels with my new friends, was my 2 hour escape and therapy durning my husbands illness & after his passing. The instructer and one of my best friends no longer teaches at Michaels but the "close Knit" group of women still get together for class at a coffee shop near the instructers home. Knitting gave me something do and focus on and these wonderfull women, are now great friends were and are great support!
