Going backwards: from yarn to sheep
Created By: Lisa Foss
I've always wanted to learn how to knit but didn't know anyone who did. My family always crocheted. I took a class at the local high school and learned how to knit. I met other knitters who insisted I needed to go to fiber festivals. I went to my first one in Hemlock NY and met a wonderful lady named Sandy Truckner who introduced me to Shetland Sheep. The rest is history. I have a small flock of 10 Shetlands in various colors and patterns. I shear them, wash their fleeces and send them out to be spun into yarn (haven't learned to spin yet...) So you see, I started with the yarn and went backward to the supplier-the sheep.
Knitting is my relaxation, inspiration, and communication with others. I knit for fun, family and charity. I encourage others to take up this great craft.
