Keeping My Sanity

Growing up in Long Island, N.Y. I was sick and in bed for a good deal of my youth. I was bed-ridden with rheumatic fever. It started in my feet but eventually effected my wrists and fingers. I needed something to help keep my sanity (you can only watch so much TV). I loved crafts anyway, so I taught myself to knit when I was about 16 years old.
The knitting not only gave me something to do, but it also helped to keep my fingers and wrists flexible. Since that time I have made numerous items both for sale and gifts.
Some forty years later, I'm still knitting and learning new techniques. I have fun exploring with designs and all the new yarns.
My dream is to one day open my own store and to be able to teach others how to keep their sanity too.
