How Crocheting Changed My Life

I love to crochet for others. My most inspiring story is not about me, but about the people I share my gifts with. They have inspired me. I crocheted a shawl for a lady that was terminally ill. She showed me she was not dying but living her life with everything the world has to offer. I thought I would be inspiring her, but no she inspired me by her kindness, her beauty and her quick wit. She told me when she was diagnosed with cancer she was not dying but she had never felt so alive. She taught me about living, giving and what the threads of life were all about. I was and am inspired by every person I make something for, whether it is for my wonderful group Warming Families, or for Sheila's Shawls and Paul Scarves. These are two wonderful organization who inspired me to do some of the little things for my community. I have started and don't ever plan to put my hook down. I am taking a knitting class now and we will see how that turns out. I have been crocheting since I was 5 so it is hard to use two needles instead of a hook. I have never been able to sit still unless I was crocheting and I take it everywhere with me. I even crochet when I am watching television and that is the solution to my hyperactivity. I crochet.
