The way I give...
Created By: Claire LiMandri
I started knitting and crocheting over 35 years ago. Most of my friends had stopped having babies so I had no one to give my blankets to. About six years ago I heard about Project Linus (for children undergoing chemotherapy). They also donate these blankets in time of catostrophy. In 2004 San Diego suffered a horrendous fire destroying many homes. The Project Linus group donated over 1600 blankets to these families.
My Stuff Bags makes up bags of goodies for children who are taken out of their abusive families and sometimes leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The most important part of this bag is the blanket.
I make approximately 40+ blankets and hand made quilts a year that I donate to these two organizations. What a wonderful feeling it is to know that something I do in my spare time is helping so many needy people. When I make these blankets my mind is always wondering who will get it and will they love it as much as I do making it. I know they do.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story with you!!
