I began to crochet when I was in my early...
Created By: Elissa Bahmer
I began to crochet when I was in my early twenties, so, just a few years ago. I don't remember why I wanted to learn. I bought a mini-booklet on how to crochet. It looked like it could be entertaining and enjoyable for a hobby. I could have never predicted how much of a part of my life this single hobby would become. I found that when I crocheted I was away from the anxieties and stresses of my life. My mind would not wander to anything except my project and how great it would be when it was complete. Now, I crochet and I am just beginning to learn how to knit. I am even contemplating turning a small room in my home into a yarn room! Now I am at the point where I have made so much for myself that I decided to continue on to share the wealth and beauty of handmade projects with others. I went to the local animal shelter and arranged to begin donating crocheted cat beds and dog sweaters. I am keeping animals warm and comfortable and meditating in my world of yarn!
