Only this much to finish mittens
Created By: Aileen McAtee
One of my fondest childhood memories is, each winter our mother would knit mittens for us. She taught me to knit when I was 6 or 7. One morning very early, I decided I wanted to knit. I went to my Mom's current mitten project to get some yarn. There wasn't any "unattached" yarn, so I decided, she would only need this much to finish the pair of mittens she was working on. I spread my arms to measure the amount and cut the ball loose at that point. Boy, did I get in trouble when she went to knit later in the day. Now, each time I start a new project this memory flashes thourgh my mind. "She will only need this much yarn to finish those mittens!" I feel love and comfort with each new project and my mothers hand in it. I also think of how pleases she would be to know her granddaughter and great-granddaughter are knitter!
