Please add a lighter gray color. The brown and charcoal are Great colors.
Why is this dry clean only. 100% cotton should be washable.
Hello Beverly - thank you for the color suggestion. This yarn recommends dry cleaning to avoid shrinkage and possible pilling caused by a regular washer & dryer.
Why does this yarn not have a gauge suggestion for knitting or crochet?
Hello J - the cone yarns from Silk City Fibers are geared toward weaving and machine knitting, which don't use the same gauge measuring systems as hand knitting and crochet do. Since it's classed as a bulky weight yarn you could use anywhere from a US 10 - 11 knitting needle, or a K, L, or M crochet hook.
Why so expensive for cotton yarn? What makes it special?
Hi Carol - this yarn comes with more yardage on a cone (630 yards) than in a typical skein, so the price reflects the quantity of yarn.
Can you make dish towels with this yarn? My concern is dry cleaning.
Hi Marilyn - since this yarn recommends dry cleaning we wouldn't suggest it for something that gets as much use as a dish towel, but items like placemats or table runners would be fine.
I love this yarn because I like to make a shaggy fabric.
No purple?
Hi Carol - sadly there is not currently a purple shade available in this yarn.
