I won't use this because I tried it and the yarn snags. Good chance if you pull too hard on the hook it will crack.
I had to laugh that Lion Brand would even solicit reviews for a free hook and free post card in their kits. I think it must be an automatic thing for every line item on an order. Having said that, even though I have my own hooks, I did try this one just for fun and it did actually work. So, I can imagine in a real pinch, like if you were going on a plane and didn't want your good metal hooks grabbed by TSA, this might be something to take. But, looking at it, I'm thinking it might be more fun to follow the idea of the safety pin crochet and use the hook as the base for a small crocheted tapestry by crocheting the first row around it, or maybe make an amigurumi doll and have her holding it, along with a ball of yarn? I have two so far, so I think that will be their future.
This came free with a kit. It is sturdier than other free hooks that have come with kits, but I wouldn't buy it. I'll take it for free though. It will be good to take some place I wouldn't want to travel (and possibly lose) with a fancy hook.
Can’t beat the price.
I love the patterns for the sea otter and bunny and the faux fur yarn. the pattern was easy to follow the yarn is so soft and the end product is adorable. Love,love,love!
I should have received a hook along with my “kit”, which did not even come in a kit bag like other companies do, and no hook and no invoice. Just the yarn ! Leaves a lot to be desired.
