Mandala® Ombre Yarn

SKU: 551-206BL

$6.74 $8.99

Each color in Mandala® Ombré gradually blends into the other in both tonal and multi-colored versions. The printing technique allows for some of the cream yarn base to show through, creating a hand-dyed, artisanal effect. Mandala Ombré is slightly thicker than the original, spun with multiple plies of premium acrylic, which give it the look and feel of merino at a fraction of the cost.

I purchased Mandala Ombré in Harmony to crochet a C2C baby blanket before finding out that the Mom-to-be prefers green over blue! So, I shifted gears and am using Harmony to crochet a summer top for myself. The stitch pattern is tight creating a dense fabric which shows off the subtle blue color changes nicely. This is my 1st project using the worsted weight 4 Mandala Ombre. Previously I finished a baby blanket using Mandala Baby (Echo Caves)which is a Light 3 weight. It worked up beautifully and also machine washed and dried to my satisfaction (I put it inside a pillow case for protection). While my summer top project is still being worked and I’m only on my 1st ball, I am disappointed I have encountered 6 knots. I don’t understand why there are so many places where the yarn has been joined. The Mandala Baby yarn had some unexpected color change issues (which I cut out and adjusted) but the Mandala Ombré seems to be cut in numerous places and just knotted back together. As this project is now just something for myself I’m just running with it and repairing each knot I come upon with a stronger, Magic Knot.

Hello Mary - our apologies for the excessive knots! Typically we allow for up to 3 knots in a single ball, so if you come across more than that please contact our quality control team at support@email.lionbrand.com. Save your yarn label, as we'll need the dye lot number.

Ombre: Mandala

I just love ❤️ this Yarn. I wish it came in solid colors. The feel of the yarn during crochet is soft silky. Awesome. I keep buying it. I am on my 3rd Afghan with this lovely yarn. My favorites are Harmony and balance.

I use the Mandela Ombré yarn regularly for knitted baby blankets and full size afghans. I’ve used many different colors and patterns with this yarn. Harmony is my favorite yarn color. The blue tones are vivid and rich. I highly recommend this yarn.

I love this yarn! Mandala is so so soft! It’s like butter! So nice to work with and really goes a long way! And The Mulberry Afghan pattern by Toni Lipsey is top notch!
