Was excited to use my new hook only to start a chain row and it snags with every stitch. Was hoping I was going to be luckier than others who shared the same problem.
Hi Jennifer - we're sorry to hear about the snags on your hook! If a bit of sandpaper (or a nail file/emery board) isn't able to file down that spot please email our quality control team at [email protected].
I was really looking forward to using this hook while working on the Ew David blanket. It's impossible to use as it snags constantly. Disappointed
Hello Arwen - our apologies for the snags! You can use some fine grit sandpaper to smooth out the edges of this hook, but please email our quality control team at [email protected] as well so we can record this issue.
I purchased this hook hoping it would be a good choice. I noticed that is wasn’t as smooth as my aluminum hooks but maybe that’s because I’m used to the aluminum ones. It seemed to snag the yarn somewhat.
I was really excited to try this crochet hook. But Bamboo is decidedly not the best material for a smooth crochet hook. Right away it snagged on my beginning chain foundation and pulled the plies apart. I tried using a nail file as suggested, but that just made it worse. I abandoned using it for the Maria top (it was suggested to use/purchase with).
It also felt fairly flimsy in my hand. I normally crochet with aluminum hooks and was hoping bamboo would be easier on my hands.
I love knitting with wooden needles because the yard stays on the needle better than metal needles. When I purchased the Tulip Throw kit for my daughter who is just learning to crochet, I thought the wooden crochet hook would be easier to use, and less slidey. No, it is not easier it snags.
After reading all the reviews, I still purchased this hook to see for myself. On starting my project, it constantly snagged. I sanded it down, and still had rough areas. Once I thought I got all the rough spots out, I started my project. I found that I was crocheting way too loose, compared to my other hooks. I DID go back to using my old hooks for my project. Sometimes, you can't fix something that's not broken.
