Like many other people, Taylor Swift’s folklore album was an escape, a salvation during the very long year that was 2020… It gave me the shivers that I imagine Taylor felt while overlooking Windermere Lake, sensing the tears from the poets who escaped there before her. Inspired by the bonus track the lakes, the Windermere Shawl is a “semi-circular”/half-hexagon piece featuring lace stitches reminiscent of falling Elm tree leaves, a small section of strategic traveling stitches that embody the famous peaks, and a delicate picot bind off.
