The towel is knit in one piece in the round, forming a tube to avoid a visible “wrong side” of the fabric. The lettering is embroidered using duplicate stitch (sometimes called Swiss Darning).

The idea is great but....

I knitted this up for my sister as a Christmas present. The idea of it is so much fun but, sadly, I won't be gifting this. This tea towel is huge. I could literally add sleeves and wear it as a sweater. The lettering is duplicate stitched on the towel and it turns out i'm not very good at duplicate stitch and it looks pretty bad. I am planning to attempt another dish towel but I will use the letter template to stitch in the second colour instead.

Hello - we're sorry to hear this gift didn't end up exactly as planned! This does make a larger dish towel (15' x 30') - maybe it could be repurposed as a wall hanging or pillow cover?
