Fun & Easy, Need Extra Skeins

This is my first cardigan. It is still a work in process, but it’s been easy to follow the pattern. I took off two stars because the pattern doesn’t call for enough yarn to finish it. I will need to order more yarn and there’s a chance I won’t get the same lot number. I would recommend this yarn and pattern, just buy extra skeins.

Hi Amy - the yarn called for in this pattern (Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling) does have some colors with different yardages per ball, so make sure that you're matching the total yardage based on the Silver Heather color (185 yds/ball) when picking an alternate color. We've got a widget on the website that will alert you when you pick a color with less yardage per ball. And of course, make sure that you've done your gauge swatch before starting - not everyone's favorite part of the project, we know!

buy extra yarn :(

I would love to give this kit five stars. And if I was just going off the pattern, I would. There is really only one problem with the actual pattern - there's a correction that it says has been incorporated into the pattern, but it has not. It's easy enough to figure out where that correction goes, though.

And the sweater itself is lovely.

But, and this is my major disappointment, the number of skeins listed for each size is simply incorrect. I checked my gauge before I started, and I've measured while in progress, and my gague is spot on. But I've run out of yarn halfway through the second sleeve!

I am so disappointed, because I bought this kit in three colors to make sweaters for different people, and now I am at a standstill until the extra yarn I've ordered arrives.

Hi Kimberly - our apologies that you ran out of yarn! Could you please email our customer service team at [email protected] regarding this and the missing correction?
