Bag

I found mistakes in the bag pattern. Rd. 4&5 of the granny square. I'm an advanced crocheter , so I corrected it. Someone might get confused.

Hi Janice - if you believe you've found an error in this pattern, please email us at [email protected]. Well review the pattern with the designer and make any corrections as needed.

Halcyon Bucket Hat Tip - Decrease hook size significantly to get correct gauge

My gauge usually does not need correcting (the hook size recommended by a pattern yields the expected results). I crocheted the Halcyon hat twice with the recommended LB Pima Cotton (very soft, stiffer kitchen cotton may work better). First with the called-for hook (I-5.5mm) and the second hat with a 7-4.5mm hook. The first hat (image 1) will fit a giant's head (bobby pin to hair & wear as a mega slouchy), the second hat (image 2) fits better but is still too big. The pattern has two "stop & measure base" prompts (ignored the inch overage for the first hat (my mistake), for the second hat the measurements were perfect) but the end result was still too big. I don't get the point of the postcard as one still has to print out the pattern (if you want a hard copy)(a link to the .pdf is sent via email right after purchasing the kit). Cute hat. Hope this helps others.

Hello Swaantje - thank you for your feedback! We do always recommend checking your gauge in a project for just this reason, even if you do normally match the pattern gauge - better to check and adjust early in the project then end up with something that doesn't fit!

Halcyon Bag and Hat

The patterns were well written and modern in their design. I substituted the pink for vintage. The pima cotton is a great quality. Some of the video links weren't available though.

Hi Linda - what a cute set! Yes the links in the PDF won't be clickable until the designer publishes the post for this pattern on her website, which should be soon!

Halcyon Hat & Bag

I did receive my order of yarn and supplies of the Halcyon Hat and Bag pattern. I have not had the time to crochet it yet. Thank you for your inquiry.

love the bag, hate the hat

The hat band was finished in a seriously clunky way. I ripped and redesigned. It was just a tad old ladyish in the original, any way. Bag was clean and cool with a distinctive handle.
