Knit Flower: Petunia

Flower 
Using A, cast on 10 sts. 
1st row (RS) Kfb, k6, turn, with yarn at back, slip 1 knitwise, k to end. 11 sts. 
2nd row Kfb, k5, turn, slip 1 as before, k to end. 12 sts. Change to B. 
3rd and 4th rows K. 
5th row Kfb, k4, turn, slip 1, k to end. 13 sts. 
6th row Kfb, k3, turn, slip 1, k to end. 14 sts. 
7th row K2tog, k4, turn, slip 1, k to end. 13 sts. 
8th row K2tog, k5, turn, slip 1, k to end. 12 sts. Change to A. 
9th and 10th rows K. 
11th row K2tog, k6, turn, slip 1, k to end. 11 sts. 
12th row K2tog, k7, turn, slip 1, k to end. 10 sts. 
Repeat 1st–12th rows 4 times. Bind off. 
Sepals 
Using C, cast on 6 sts. 
1st row (RS) K4, turn, with yarn at back, slip 1 knitwise, k3. 
2nd row K5, kfb. 7 sts. 
3rd row Bind off 6 sts. Transfer remaining st to left-hand needle, * cast on 5 sts by cable method, k all 6 sts; repeat from * 3 times, then work 1st and 2nd rows again. Bind off all sts. 
RS facing, along straight edge pick up and k 3 sts from each sepal. 15 sts. 
K 1 row. 
Next row sk2p 5 times. 5 sts. K 3 rows. 
Next row K2tog, k1, ssk. 3 sts. Transfer these sts to a double-pointed needle and make an i-cord 1 in. long. Bind off. 
Finishing 
Pin out petal points and press lightly. Seam to outside, join cast-on and bound-off edges of flower. Darn in ends of A and B along fine stripes on outside. Join base of sepals and attach to base of flower. Using C, make a small knot in center of flower.
