How to Knit: Knitting with Two Strands Together

Some items are made using two strands of yarn held together 
throughout. If the pattern uses only one skein of yarn, you have two choices:

1. roll each skein into two equal-sized balls
2. use yarn from both the outside and the inside of the skein.
