  • Homespun Scalloped Shawl L40004

I just made this shawl for my daughter who is freezing at her office. I used Homespun yarn, but made it in solid black. I used the K-hook and followed the pattern, but the result was way too short, not the shawl length I expected. I bought another skein and used the whole thing, repeating the row 24-26 before making the ending row. The length is now much better - reaching to just below the waist in the back. In my case, having the right dye lot was important for matching the black, and I was fortunate to get the 3rd skein in the same die lot. So you might want to buy the 3rd skein just in case you feel the same way about the length. This shawl will keep her warm in the office and it looks good with the scalloping along the bottom edge. Because of the curly black yarn, it was hard to see the stitches, so I did most of it by touch and counted every set of stitches. Took one star away due to the length, which I adjusted myself.
