London Kaye Crochet Hooks + A Giveaway!

We’re thrilled to be working with London Kaye, NYC-based yarn-bombing goddess. We love all the new ideas she’s bringing to Lion Brand! From her colorful and durable new yarn, to her inspired Theme Packs, she’s all about bringing a smile to your day. But one of our favorite collaborations by far has been her brilliant crochet hooks.
Learn more about her brilliant hooks, and enter to win a giveaway prize!

London’s Crochet Hooks

London Kaye crochets all day. So who better to craft the perfect crochet hook? She’s combined all her dream features to make these hooks totally unique.

The most noticeable feature is the major twist! Just at the base of the hook itself, the handle begins a 180º curve, making it perfectly ergonomic. She designed it for maximum comfort, so you’ll hold the hook with less gripping. You’ll be able to craft longer and more efficiently, meaning you’ll see your finished products more quickly!

London’s Hook Set

The blue hook is her favorite: “the bigger the hook, the faster it goes!”

While she often reaches for her blue hook, she knows you can’t do everything with just one size. That’s why she’s created two smaller hooks, to make sure you can tackle every project with one set! Her Hook Set features a Large Blue Hook (20MM), the Medium Pink Hook (11.5MM), and a Small Green Hook (9MM). For any of London’s Theme Packs, you’ll need all three, so her Hook Set is your best bet.

Intrigued? You can hop on over to your local JOANN store and pick up London’s crochet hooks. Or, if there’s no location near you, make your way to JOANN.com and find all of London Kaye’s hooks, yarn and theme packs on their site!

  159. What a beautiful set of hooks! They look like they would be very easy to use when you have arthritis. Love to win the prize package!

  160. Hi Ms. London, it is funny that you are featuring these new hooks….I have arthritis in just about all of my joints and the straight hooks have been hurting my hand….before being hospitalized in mid Feb. I had started a baby blanket that I just can’t seem to get back to from the pains….if I don’t get pick perhaps you can tell me where to get them at…..keep on stitching….

  161. I’ve never used one of these hooks, but I would to try them! The look so comfortable to use!

  162. It would be great to try a hook that’s supposed to be ergonomic! I’ve tried adding grips off all sorts, but since injuring my arms a few years ago, it’s a rare thing I can get more than 2 rounds on even a small project before I’m in pain and surgery isn’t an option. I’ve never seen the before, so I really hope they go to someone who needs an ergonomic hook and will write a review from the view of someone in need of a specialty hook. Furls hooks are beautiful and clearly high quality, but most of us can’t afford even their cheapest line options.

  163. I would love to try these. I’m am looking for a set of hooks that I can use without hand and wrist pain. How much are they?

  164. Though I enjoy crocheting, as I have gotten older arthritis has made it more difficult. These hooks look like they might allow me to crochet longer and with less pain after, I would love to be able to try them.

  166. I love these hooks!!!!!
There’s no life without chrochet for me
I would love to win these fabulouse hooks .

  167. I’m intrigued. The color makes them look like they would grip the yarn which I would not enjoy. My other thought is that they would be too light. I have a transparent hook made of some kind of plastic that I find difficult to work with.

  168. I’d love to give these a try! After losing a finger, crocheting is a little harder for me. These hooks may be the answer 🙂

  169. I love the twist. I think it will help with my wrist and the achy feeling after a lot of crocheting. Hope my Joann carries them.

  170. These packs look like fun. I need to work on my crochet and this would be a fun way to improve my skills.

  171. It is easier to do things with a TWIST -these new style hooks like they might make it more fun and easier to use!

  177. I’m intrigued about these hooks. I’m going to have to make a trip to Joann’s to check them out.

  179. I haven’t had the opportunity to try London Kaye Crochet Hooks yet…but I would LOVE to try them. I crochet many afghans for wedding and graduation gifts. 194. Hi. My name is Vivi. I live in Indonesia. I’m a beginner crocheter. This is my story about London. I first begin to know her from Google when I search about “Yarn Bomb” I amazed with the work London did. I feel so excited to see London’s website and Instagram full of her yarn bombing town since it’s not familiar here in Indonesia to install such beautiful crochet grafitti. Since that, London became my idol and I always visit her social media everytime I need inspiration for my crochet project. She’s my faboulous yarn bomber queen ever. Then, I really want to follow her habit too, on what yarn or what hook size she choose for her works. Then thanks God, a few past months before, she told us in her social media that she use Lion Brand yarns and hooks for her works. Luckily she also collaborated with Lion Brand to make her own yarn and hook, I was so happy to know that! So because of my great curiousity I bought one skein of LKYC yarn (I choose Pop Rocks color!) from Lion Brand website and waiting for 2 weeks (because it’s International shipping) and after the post man give me my package, I was so excited. And just like I expected, the yarn is so soft but have persistent characteristic. I love it so much. I wish I can have more LKYC yarns and can crochet it using the London Kaye Hook. Thank you so much Lion Brand, for collaborating with London, so I can experincing crocheting using same yarn as London. Love from me in Indonesia!

I have been demonically possessed to crochet for years and years – it’s my antidote to snacking and my occupational therapy to help me recover from a small stroke I had in 2016, (I’m considered 99% recovered from paralysis on my left side) . My left hand, initially, was useless. I started back crocheting “Plarn” from grocery bags into coasters, and I recently graduated back to making throws in double crochet open shell patterns as my strength and control returned. These hooks caught my interest when I first saw them in the store, as hand fatigue can still be a problem, and I would really appreciate an opportunity to try a project with them . I am proof in the value of crafts not only for metal well-being, but for making people feel whole again after a life-altering event, and I’ve shared my experiences on social media among my fellow stroke survivors.

  357. I haven’t quite gotten the hang of crocheting, but these large, gorgeous hooks should get me going!

  358. I would love to have these. I have arthritis and these would really help me get back into crocheting.

  359. Wow! These hooks look amazing! My hands can get a bit uncomfortable when I’m crocheting, but these look like they just might be the perfect hook. I also think this would make a great gift for my mom. She’s in her 70s, but still loves crochet.

  360. I’ve never been a good crocheter, so I knit…these look like they might give me the edge I need…maybe I’ll look into it…it would be great, after all these years, to make some of those beautiful items I’ve had to pass up!

  361. I love crochet! In addition to a large yarn stash, I have a collection of crochet hooks, some of which are over 100 years old. I have some hand crafted wood hooks, an old-fashioned ivory hook inherited from my father’s aunt,, and some older metal hooks that are so small I can hardly see the hook end (used for thread crochet.) I would love to have a set of these hooks simply because they would be easier to work with and any project would work up faster.

  362. I’m always on the lookout for comfy crochet hooks that would be easier on my arthritis. Would love to try these.

  363. I really enjoy using big hooks. It seems to relax me more than the clinched up feel of a small hook. Can’t wait to try London Kate Crochet!!

  364. London Kaye is new to me; she certainly has a fresh and bright style. 365. I have crocheting 30 years and would really be interested in trying these hooks. Thanks for thinking of doing it!!

  366. This is a terrific idea……………the larger hook looks like it’d be sooooo comfortable & easy to use. Want to get the set right away. Thanks London Kaye for thinking of this. I volunteer at Shepherd Center in Atl. & crochet while I’m waiting to help a patient. This larger hook would certainly make the crocheting so faster & would be fun. Thanks for thinking of this. Hugs, Patty McGill

  367. I have recently gotten back into crocheting, and have made many hats, shawls and scarfs for family and friends this winter. My fingers aren’t as nimble as they were 60 years ago…I would love to try these new hooks, esp the large one! What a great idea for us “experienced” crafters!

  779. i would love to crochet with these. i am starting to have problems with my pinkie. These look like they may solve the problem.

  780. I just picked up my crochet hook to make chemo caps for family and friends using Landscapes yarn. These look like they would be very pleasant to use. Congratulations to the lucky winner (maybe me?)

  781. These look like fun to use! As a newerish (3years) and young person that crochets, I’ve never used any thing besides the metal hooks my mom started me on. I absolutely love crocheting and when I am in between project, I feel lost.

  782. I lost a lot of my crochet hooks in a house fire. These would be a great new start.

  783. Thanks for offering such a cool item. Looks comfortable to use. Helpful with carpal tunnel, I am sure.

  788. Perfect find. My friend and I were just talking about looking for new hooks with a better grip.

  789. What a brilliant idea! The twist and broader handle would make crocheting with London’s so much more comfortable. I usually lnit, which is much less ergonomic. With these hooks, cricheting for hours would be even easier.

  794. I enjoy all of the creativity and fun ideas that London Kaye comes up with, it reminds me of Andy Warhol. If I were to win, I’d choose the Water World theme pack, because I _love_ under the sea, and I’ve always wanted to make an Earth applique and out it on a reusable bag.

  795. I love the London Eye!!!! I’m thinking of making 4 (two with lashes & two without), then crocheting one with & one without together stuffed with polyester to make a pillow. I’ll do the same with the remaining two (for another pillow) and place them side by side at the head of a girl’s bed…..like anyone entering the room is being watched! The hooks look absolutely awesome! I simply MUST try them!

  796. These look as if they would be easier on the hands and wrist, with having carpel tunnel problems. Any thing that would help me crochet, and fill my need to relax with no pain would be great.

  797. WITH ARTHUR I WONDER HOW MY HANDS WOULD FEEL,CROCHETING UP OR UNDERHANDED WITH THESES,LOVE TO TRY!!!!!

  798. These hooks look as if they would work well with my aging hands. The twisting puts a strain on my wrists so I limit the length I crochet each time. 806. I am totally loving London Kaye and what she’s doing to make crochet fun and trendy!
I want to Flutter Flutter and fly away!

I can’t use the smaller hooks anymore.

  811. I crochet for charity especially premature babies. With these hooks I could crochet faster with much less wear and tear on my joints. The big plus is I can get blankets and hats to those who need them faster so more can benefit The mom’s take the blankets home after it has been in the nicu with the baby. It has mom’s sent and she has something to cuddle. When she brings it back it has mom’s scent so baby is comforted. Tyvm for making these

  812. As a beginning crocheter I am intrigued by London’s projects and now her new hooks. My six-year old granddaughter recently asked me to teach her how to crochet, so I am teaching her what I know and trying to stay one step ahead of her. 819. I crochet whenever I have the opportunity (which is every night and when I am riding in the car). Crocheting is my passion and I am always looking for something new to try. I totally agree with you that the larger the hook the faster you get the project done and you can move on to another. I would really like to try the larger hook on a few of the women’s clothing that I make. Thank you for sharing the information about these hooks.

  820. These hooks look so AWESOME!!! i bet they’re easy on your hands too!!!Thx for giving me a chance at winning these and good luck everyone!! Don’t forget to smile to someone today!! 🙂

  821. Saw these hooks on my last yarn pilgrimage, but I didn’t have the extra money to pick one up to try it. I can’t use regular hooks because of a sensory handicap I have, so I’ve had to try a series of different handles, both mass market and made for my grip, but none have seemed to make crocheting as fluid as I believe it can be. The added bulk seems to get in the way. Perhaps these, with just a twisted handle might allow me the grip I need without the added bulk. I look forward to trying them in the future, whether I win them or not. Thank you for the opportunity to try to win one!

  822. Would so love to win a set of London Kaye crochet hooks and try them out! These hooks may help me to entice a few friends to finally get started with crocheting!!! I’m hoping to start a little crochet group in my neighborhood. THANK YOU for making me aware of this product.

I could do it while lying in my hospital bed. Now, thank the Lord, I’m home but still an invalid, so I’ve expanded my crocheting even more since I can now sit on the side of my bed. 836. I have loved London Kaye after watching a segment on tv about her yarn bombing and how she wanted to put a smile on peoples faces.
