New This Week! 5 Kits From Our Bloggers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Over the past week we’ve seen some seriously fun new designs come to the kits section on Lion Brand! An afghan (start them now for the Fall and holiday gifting!), a Summer top, layering cardigan, funky new kicks, and a beach-worthy sarong.

The kits are available online in the colors as shown below.

1. Southwest Inspired Afghan (crochet)

c2c afghan

This corner-to-corner (C2C) crocheted afghan is worked in 5 shades of Vanna’s Choice yarn. The possibilities for playing with color on this one are endless. (Please note that the kit comes with the colors as shown.) Designed by ChiWei of One Dog Woof. If you’ve never tried C2C crochet you might want to check out the blog post by ChiWei, 5 Things You Should Know about Corner to Corner Crochet.

2. Canyonlands Boho Top (crochet)

crochet top

The Canyonlands Boho top is a delicate warm-weather essential. Layer it over a sundress or a camisole with jeans or a skirt. Dress it up, or dress it down. People will be inquiring about where you purchased this cute top. And you’ll wow them with, I made it! Crocheted in LB Collection Cotton Bamboo.

3. Infinite Ways Sarong (crochet)

sarong

This breezy sarong was designed by Jess, aka Mama in a Stitch. The fabric is open and allows for maximum airflow and movement. Don’t let the term “sarong” scare you away! While you might enjoy wearing it over your favorite swimsuit poolside or on the beach, it can just as easily pair with a summer sundress as a stole. Crocheted in 24/7 Cotton.

4. Espadrilles (crochet)

Make And Do Crew does it again with another pair of funky fun kicks that utilize flip flop soles. Being small, these shoes make a good instant gratification project. And since they’re so cute you’ll want to wear them too much to get stuck with second shoe syndrome*. Espadrilles use 24/7 Cotton yarn in Red and Ecru.
(*like second sock syndrome when the single sock languishes waiting for its mate.)

5. Varsity Hoodie (knit)

This open-front cardigan was made as the grownup version of Lion Brand’s Carson Hoodie Baby sweater. It is worked using two strands of Jeans® yarn held together to create a soft chunky fabric.
