this yarn is so fun and easy to work with. i love the colors, though i wish there were some more neutral and natural colors, especially autumn ones.

Great colors, great yardage per cake, kind of fussy when crocheting but I've gotten used to it.

I came back to crochet after years away and Mandala cakes were the first ones I picked to use. I think that this yarn is pretty good (not quite a premium yarn but it works pretty well and I have done a number of projects with it. A couple things to know about the yarn are that the colors between cakes are random and apparently also how much of each color, so if yoiur dye lot is different from cake to cake it really does not show at all. I love the multicolor yarn and enjoy the random color changes. That said, I wish that the yarn was a little easier to work with as it does tend to fuzz and felt, making it snag against itself, particularly if frogging it out multiple time to rework (not that this has ever happened to me heh). I think I could split any yarn (a super power) but it also occasionally likes to split which combined with the fuzz can cause a snag that has to be snipped out to undo. (again, coming back I've been getting used to more modern yarns and this may be a sign of quality being a little lower than I used to use). Price is to me important so I always look for sales on this and wish the non-sale price was a little more competitive. The look of the yarn is matte with very little sheen, so it is good for projects that want a rustic look... the colorways are currently a little vintage feeling which for me is a good thing. Chimera is the colorway I'm using for the current project (except for the border which is a coordinating other brand I had on hand.)

Ready for Fall

I absolutely love Mandala yarn. My only issue is that, depending on the color, it can be a little coarse. I've seen this with other yarns as well and assume it has something to do with the dying process. That being said, the One Ball Scarf (a/k/a Sunnyvale Scarf) is a delight to work up. I get a kick out of every color change and I wind up working quickly and get done in no time at all. The colors that came out recently are ready for fall and convey a mood that I hadn't experienced with prior colors. The Banshee reminded me of a campfire on a pleasantly cool Autumn day while the Sandman hat & scarf combo would be great for walks on the beach as the weather cools down. (The hat is reversible and, together with the scarf, came from one cake.)

Hope everyone enjoys these yarns as much as I do.

My favorite yarn ...

Mandala never fails to deliver! The color pallets are lovely and unique, and the softness is incredible. Washes and wears so well that I've got items I've made from over five years ago that still look great!

Started off meh....now I love it!

I ordered this yarn to mix a hexi cardigan. I love the cadence that the color change. I think it's going to look really pretty when my sweater is done. My only concern was the yarn felt a little rough while working with it. After I blocked, machine washed, and dried my swatch, it is so squishy and soft, and delightful! I'm so glad I chose this yarn.
