Misleading photo - agree with another person's review.

I agree with review given on "misleading photo!". Hat was also ending up too big! Very disappointing:(

Hello Janice - we're sorry your hat came out too large! Since the pattern is based on the designer's sample it's important that you're able to match the gauge in the pattern in order for the hat to come out to the stated dimensions. This may mean that you'll have to adjust your hook size up or down as needed.

In this photo, the hat looks like an understated cloche, or a beanie with a cloche-like brim. In reality, it has a flat, hexagonal top, and the whole thing looks like a slouchy top hat that I'm pretty sure Lady Edith wouldn't be caught dead wearing. What a waste of time. I'm going to frog it and look for a better pattern.

Simple Lady Edith hat, looks good...

Whatever,
I used yarn in a different color than the photo to crochet the hat. It did not look like a flat hexagonal top. Nor did it appear slouchy top hat. I love the ease of crocheting this hat, in fact I have made several for friends who are ladies who look great in them. I wear it myself and look fine.
