Cozy Cabin Throw

GAUGE:

Rnds 1-4 = 5 x 5 in. (12.5 x 12.5 cm) square.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

1. A Center Square is worked first, then Panels 1 and 2 are worked across 2 side edges of the Center Square. Panels 3 and 4 are worked across the remaining edges.
2. The Center Square is worked in rnds with RS facing at all times. Do not turn at end of rnds.
3. To change color, work last st of old color to the last yarn over. Yarn over with the new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st. Fasten off old color.

THROW
Center Square
With A, ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc in this rnd and in all following rnds), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, (3 dc in ring, ch 2) 3 times; join with sl st in top of beg ch - 12 dc and 4 ch-2 sps.
Fasten off A.
Rnd 2: With RS facing, join C with sl st in any ch-2 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same ch-2 sp (corner made), ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp (corner made), ch 1; rep from * 2 more times; join with sl st in top of beg ch - 4 corners at the end of this rnd.
Fasten off C.
Rnd 3: With RS facing, join F with sl st in any corner ch-2 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same ch-2 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * 2 more times; join with sl st in top of beg ch - 4 corners and one 3-dc group on each side.

Change to F at the end of this row - twenty-three 3-dc groups and one 2-dc group at each end.
Fasten off A.
Row 2 (WS): With C, ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp) to end of row, dc in top of beg ch.

Edging
With RS facing, join G with sc in any st along outside edge of Throw, work sc evenly spaced around entire edge working 3 sc in each corner; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
