Misty Lace Scarf
Lion Brand® Hometown USA®
GAUGE: 9 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: yo (yarn over) An increase that also creates a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows: 1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles. 2. Take yarn to back, over the right needle. This creates a new st. |
NOTES: The pattern st creates a diagonal effect causing the ends of the Scarf to slant slightly.
|
|
SCARF Cast on 21 sts loosely. Row 1 (WS): K2, p to last 2 sts, k2. Row 2: K3, *yo, k2tog; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2. Rep Rows 1 and 2 until about 2 yds (2 m) of yarn remains, end with a WS row. Note: End with a WS row means that the last row you work should be a WS row. Bind off.
FINISHING Weave in ends. |

| I found the pattern simple enough for myself (a beginner). I used a smaller gauge yarn and a smaller needle to get a more child size look. The kid loved it! I also added fringe... but I want this size, style for myself!
