GAUGE: 7 stitches = about 6 in. (15 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row).
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
NOTES: 1. Scarf is worked with 2 strands of A held together and, on some rows, one strand of B is added to the 2 strands of A.
2. When you are not working with B, carry the strand along the side edge of the Scarf.

SCARF
With 2 strands of A held together, cast on 7 stitches.
Rows 1 and 2: With 2 strands of A, work in Garter stitch (knit every row).
Join one strand of B.
Rows 3-10: With 2 strands of A and one strand of B held together, work in Garter stitch.
Drop B strand and just carry it along the side edge of the Scarf for the next 2 rows.
Rows 11 and 12: With 2 strands of A held together, work in Garter stitch.
Pick up B strand.
Rows 13-20: With 2 strands of A and one strand of B held together, work in Garter stitch.
Cut B.
With 2 strands of A held together, work in Garter stitch for 35 rows.
Join one strand of B.
Repeat Rows 13-20.
Drop B strand and just carry it along the side edge of the Scarf for the next 2 rows.
Repeat Rows 11 and 12.
Pick up B strand.
Repeat Rows 13-20.
Cut B.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends. |
