Braided Strands Turban

GAUGE: Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

TURBAN
Cut 15 strands of yarn, each 45 in. (114.5 cm) long. With binder clip, clip strands together at one end.
Repeat twice more to make 3 groups of 15 strands each.
Leaving binder clips in place, braid the 3 groups together.
Remove binder clips, then wrap and knot sewing thread around each end of braid.
Wrap braid around head, overlapping braid ends to fit. Hold ends together with a binder clip. Remove braid from head. With sewing needle and thread, sew ends of braid together.
Cut a 36 in. (91.5 cm) length of yarn. Tightly wrap overlapped ends of braid with yarn, covering where ends were sewn together.
Draw yarn ends to inside of braid, and sew in place with needle and thread. |
