Loom Woven Placemats
Lion Brand® Martha Stewart CraftsTM/MC Cotton Hemp
GAUGE: Exact gauge is not essential to this project.
NOTES: 1. Warp and Weft are worked with 2 strands of yarn held together.
2. Follow loom manual instructions on WEAVING for how to set up the warp, weave the weft, and remove weaving from the loom.
MATERIALS NOTE
Materials are sufficient to make 2 Placemats, one A and one B.

Loom Configuration
Use the following pieces: (2) 36-hole pieces (2) 12-hole pieces, (4) 6-hole pieces and (4) corner pieces.
Connect pieces to form a rectangle as follows: corner piece > 36-hole piece > corner piece > 6-hole piece > 12-hole piece > 6-hole piece > corner piece > 36-hole piece > corner piece > 6-hole piece > 12-hole piece > 6-hole piece
Leaving corner hole empty in each corner, insert a small peg into every hole of assembled loom - 140 small working pegs placed.
Insert one contrast color small peg in upper right hand corner for slip knot.
PLACEMAT A (make one)
Following loom manual instructions, set up warp with 2 strands of yarn held together using this pattern: *set up 2 pegs with A, then 1 peg with B; repeat from * across 27 of the 29 working pegs placed across each short side of loom, end with A on the last two pegs.
Weave weft with 2 strands of yarn held together using this pattern: *weave 2 pegs with A, then 1 peg with B; repeat from * across 39 of the 41 working pegs placed across each long side of loom, end with A on last 2 pegs.
Remove Placemat from loom.
PLACEMAT B (make one)
Set up warp with 2 strands of yarn held together using this pattern: *set up 1 peg with B, then 2 pegs with A; repeat from * across 27 of the 29 working pegs placed across each short side of loom, end with B on the next peg and A on the last peg.
Weave weft with 2 strands of yarn held together using this pattern; *weave 2 pegs with A, then 1 peg with B; repeat from * across 39 of the 41 working pegs placed across each long side of loom, end with A on the last 2 pegs.
Remove Placemat from loom.
FINISHING
Thread yarn ends into yarn needle provided with loom and weave ends into the fabric of the Placemat. Secure ends with sewing needle and thread.
