GAUGE:
17 sts + 34 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
Yoke and sleeves are knit in one piece, from sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff. Stitches are then picked up along lower edges of yoke for back and fronts.

I made each of my granddaughters this sweater in teal to match their Easter dresses last year. I added an I-cord edge to the neck, which gave it a more finished look. They both loved it I used butterfly buttons. Too cute
