Curvy Girl Intertwined Poncho

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®

GAUGE:

11 sts and 10 rows = 4 in. in hdc

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Back post double crochet (bpdc) and front post double crochet (fpdc) stitches are abbreviated throughout.

NOTES:

Ch-2 counts as 1 hdc throughout.

This piece is easily customizable. To make it longer or shorter in length, add or subtract stitches to the width of the panel between the cables; to change the circumference, add or subtract rows to the length of the panel by continuing the pattern repeat as needed.

Assembly
Lay both panels next to each other, short sides toward you with right sides facing up.
Stitch one Cable Trim Piece to the bottom of the Panel on your right, placing the side with 1 hdc closest to the panel. The side with 2 hdc is now the bottom edge.
Stitch the remaining Cable Trim Piece to the top of the Panel on your left, placing the side with 1 hdc closest to the panel. The side with 2 hdc in now the top edge.
Rotate the left Panel 90 degrees to the left. Line up the pieces so that the new bottom edge of the left Panel is even with the bottom edge of the right Panel. Stitch the pieces together where they meet.
Fold the right Panel so that the top right edge meets the top left edge of the left Panel. Stitch the pieces together where they meet.
Weave in all ends.

Curvy Girl Intertwined Poncho Reviewed by LaRyssa Martin on 2012-12-04 *****
I made this pattern as specified . This was my first crochet cable and it didn't turn out right but, I'll get it right next time. I guess I'm not as curvy as I thought as the finished product came out way too big. I will gift it to a friend. When I make the next one (cable in tact) I'll reduce the length of each piece. I will definitely make this one again.
