GAUGE:
9 sts + 12 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
SCARF
Cast on 19 sts.
Row 1 (RS): K3, *p1, k3; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: K1, *p1, k3; rep from * across to last 2 sts, p1, k1.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 until Scarf measures about 140 in. (355.5 cm) from beginning. Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

Really easy pattern and the results look so polished! I made this for my father-in-law and he loved it. I used only 2 skeins of black yarn because I wanted it to be be a short scarf, to be worn criss cross under a dress coat, not too bulky. Perfect!
