When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. Cast on 56 sts.
Work in K2, p2 Rib until piece measures 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm) from beg.
Next Row: Work in k2, p2 Rib to last 2 sts, p2tog – 55 sts at end of row.
Begin Cable Pattern
Row 1 (RS): K1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, *p2, k6, p2, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl; rep from * across.
Row 2 and all WS rows: P1 tbl, k1, p1 tbl, *k2, p6, k2, p1 tbl, k1, p1 tbl; rep from * across.
Row 3: K1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, *p2, 3/3 LC, p2, k1 tbl, p1, k1 tbl, rep from * across.
Rows 5 and 7: Rep Row 1.
Rep Rows 1-8 until piece measures about 67 1/2 in. (171.5 cm) from beg, end with a Row 7.
