GAUGE:
1 ripple = about 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
dc2tog (dc dec) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops. Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.
NOTES:
COLOR SEQUENCE: Work 2 rows of each color in the following Color Sequence: A, B, A, C, D, C, E, A, E, B, D, B, A, C, A, D, E, D.
To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over; yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.
AFGHAN With A, ch 168.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook (beginning ch counts as dc), (dc2tog) 3 times, 2 dc in next 6 ch, *(dc2tog) 6 times, 2 dc in next 6 ch; rep from * across to last 8 ch, (dc2tog) 3 times, dc in last 2 ch – 9 ripples.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn, dc in next dc, (dc2tog) 3 times, 2 dc in next 6 dc, *(dc2tog) 6 times, 2 dc in next 6 dc; rep from * across to last 8 dc, (dc2tog) 3 times, dc in last 2 dc. Change to B.
Rep Row 2, continue to change colors every other row as in Color Sequence, until Color Sequence has been completed twice. Fasten off.
FINISHING Weave in ends.

I made this for my adult daughter. My daughter is someone that loves "unusual" things and I knew she would love this. The colors are great and it's not the same old flat ripple stitch....it's puffy. I think I'll be making one for myself in the very near future.
