Honest Warmth Shawl
Lion Brand® Homespun®
GAUGE: 9 sts + 17 rows = 4 in (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: Shawl is knit on circular needle to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
Please note this pattern is knit bottom to top.

| I, along with everyone else, love this pattern although after the first one, I made some changes. With the second, I used two strands of medium weight (4) wool. I cast on 4 sts and k three rows. Row 4, k2, yo, and k to end of row. Repeat until desired length. When near the end, I chose a contrasting color and added several inches with it It adds a very nice border around the neck and down the sides. I chose the wool for warmth and durability. I also think knitting two stitches then doing a YO makes a nicer border rather than only knitting one stitch. For my third shawl I used alpaca yarn (5) and it turned out beautifully. The alpaca and Homespun drapes beautifully. Love this pattern!
