STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc dec) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all loops on hook.
hdc3tog (hdc double dec) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop. (Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop) twice. Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.

BLANKET
Ch 2.
Head
Note: Head is worked in continuous rnds; do not join or turn.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 30 sc.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * around – 36 sc.
Rnds 7–13: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 14: *Sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts, rep from * around – 30 sts.
Rnd 15: *Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 16: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Do not fasten off.
Blanket
Note: Work now proceeds in rows; turn at beg of each row.
Row 1: Ch 2, turn, 2 hdc next 9 sts; leave rem sts unworked – 18 sts.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, 3 hdc in first st, hdc in each st across to last st, 3 hdc in last st – 22 sts.
Rows 3–11: Rep Row 2 – 58 sts
Row 12 (beg hands): Ch 12, turn, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch and st across – 68 sts.
Row 13: Rep Row 12 – 78 sts.
Row 14: Ch 2, turn, hdc in each st across.
Row 15: Ch 2, turn, hdc in next 68 sts; leave rem sts unworked – 68 sts.
Row 16: Ch 2, turn, hdc3tog, hdc in next 52 sts, hdc3tog; leave rem sts unworked – 54 sts.
Row 17: Ch 2, turn, hdc3tog, hdc in each st across to last 3 sts, hdc3tog – 50 sts.
Rows 18–28: Rep Row 17 – 6 sts.
Row 29: Ch 2, turn, (hdc3tog) twice – 2 sts.
Fasten off.

EARS (make 2)
Ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 6 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 8 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 10 sc.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * around – 12 sc.
Rnds 6–12: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 13: (Sc2tog) 6 times – 6 sts.
Fasten off.

FINISHING
Stuff head and sew closed. Sew Ears to top of head.
Edging
With right side facing, join A with sl st in edge of blanket below head, work sc evenly spaced around blanket edges to opposite side below head, working 2 sc in each corner.
Tie hands in knots.
Felting
Wash by machine on a hot wash/cold rinse cycle with detergent and several pieces of clothing to agitate. To felt additionally, dry by machine on a regular setting until almost dry. Remove from dryer and pull into shape.
With black yarn and following diagram, embroider straight st eyes, nose and mouth. Weave in ends.

This turned out quite cute - and is very easy to do. I made mine a bit larger (just add a few more rows before and after the hands) and I also added a pompom tail!
Just make a small pompom and after felting sew it to the bottom corner (on the back side).
