Diagonal Comfort Blanket
Lion Brand® Cotton-Ease® (new)
GAUGE: 16 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of stitches. Knit Blanket back and forth in rows as if knitting with straight needles.

| I have made probably 12 baby blankets with this pattern; I love soft cotton yarn for this -- making it with a multi-color cotton yarn (pink, yellow, white, green for girls; blue, yellow, white, green for boys) comes out great and doesn't show any small mistakes as a solid does; also works well with homespun. I also use this pattern with a k2 border for dishcloths (by the 10's) and even smaller baby washcloths: a gift of 3 in sweet colors makes a lovely shower present. I love a pattern that I can do when traveling, chatting, etc.
