GAUGE:

8 sts + 4 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in dc. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Shell Work 5 dc in indicated st.
Half-shell Work 3 dc in indicated st.

WRAP
Ch 3; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Row 1: Ch 3 (does not count as a st), work 9 dc in ring; do not join.

The pattern is very pretty and easy to follow. I was unable to find the N-13 hook. I found M-13 and N-15. I elected to use the N-15. When I finished the directions the shawl seemed very small, so I am in the process of adding one or two repeats. I am just now on my second skein of yarn. I just think the directions/yarn recommendations are misleading. I think it will turn out okay, but not exactly what I expected!
