Lacy Luxe Cowl
Lion Brand® LB Collection® Cashmere
GAUGE: 20sts + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Lace Pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them tog.
sk2p Slip 1 as if to knit, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over—2 sts decreased.

| Nice Cowl, but Frustrating Knit Reviewed by Carolyn Cardwell on 2012-11-21 |

My knit group decided to do this as a knit-along and I'm the only one who finished it. I think the rating of Easy is misleading. It looks easy, but the pattern, especially row 2 is hard to follow without a lot of concentration. I ended up charting out the pattern and that helped a lot. Seeing the charted pattern helped me match up the knitting to the chart and showed me where I was in the pattern.
If you have a tendency to forget which row you are on when you put down your project, always stop at the end of a round. Start the next round and do the number of stitches in row to correspond to the pattern repeat row you need to do. For example, if I just completed row 2 of the pattern, I would knit three stitches of row three and stop. Then when I pick up my knitting I count the stitches at the beginning of the row and know that I'm on row 3.
