GAUGE:

14 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Row 1 (RS):
*K1, p1; rep from * across.

Library Capelet Reviewed by Kathy Fouty on 2013-02-18 ****
This is a great pattern that is quick and easy, and makes a very cute capelet, much cuter than is shown in the photo. My mother absolutely loves the one I made her (I used a different yarn, a 100% wool, single-ply, loosely twisted). I thought the pattern was well-written and easy to follow. But I won't bother with two buttonholes another time. One does the trick quite nicely.
