5 sts + 4 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in K1, p1 rib with 1 strand each of A, B, and C held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Play It Cool Neckwarmer Reviewed by Erin Ingram on 2010-05-24
Pretty warm and soft! Easy pattern. Quick to do. My kind of project! I thought when I first started this might be too tight, but it turned out snug enough without being suffocating. The ribbing pattern stretches so that was a plus. I picked this out to get rid of the left over Thick and Quick skeins I had. I didn't have any of the chunky yarns, but used leftover Vanna's Choice and used slightly smaller needles. Worked out fine.
