Stitch Explanation: 4-st RC Sl 2 sts to cn and hold to back, k2, k2 from cn.

Pattern: Rows 1, 5, 9, 13, 17 and 21 (RS) P3, *K8, p3, k8, p3; rep from * to end. 
Row 2 and all WS rows *K3, p8, k3, p8; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3. 
Rows 3, 7 and 11
 P3, *[4-st RC] twice, p3, k8, p3; rep from * to end. 
Rows 15, 19 and 23
 P3, *K8, p3, [4-st RC] twice, p3; rep from * to end. 
Row 24
 Rep row 2. Rep rows 1–24.

Note: this is a generic pattern for creating this cable. For a single cable it would be 22 stitches. In the example shown, there are 2 repeats of the stitch, so you'd need to cast on 47 (22 x 2 + 3) stitches and do 2 repeats to get a swatch that appears the same.
