Hartland Yarn

I love this yarn; it's one of my favorites. Very soft and easy to work with.

Very disappointed

I have used this brand for over a decade. I have made afghans for kids as they graduate from school. Unfortunately, you have chosen to outsource the production of the yarn to Turkey and the quality has suffered greatly. The thread is not of a consistent size throughout. It gets very thick then very thin and back again. I will not use this again and that makes me sad.

Hello Shelby - thank you for your feedback! If you still have the yarn label with the dye lot information, please email our quality control team at support@lionbrand.com. If you have pictures of the inconsistent thickness that would also be very helpful.

Skeins are badly wound and tangled.

Large tangles within the skeins that take hours to unknot. I had to resort to cutting large clumps out which was a waste of time and money. The yarn is soft but it’s not worth the frustration.

Hello Lauren - we're sorry you had such trouble finding the center pull in this yarn! Our top tip to find the center pull is to make sure that the outside tail is pulled out of the way first. It can sometimes be tucked into the middle of the ball and if it's not pulled out of the way it will get dragged into the middle and end up being tangled with the center of the ball.

A great go-to for soft, draping sweaters

I love this yarn! It is so soft, It drapes well and has beautiful stitch definition. I have used this yarn more than one occasion and I continue to buy it and use it on another project. Some colors I like well enough to buy another round for another project. I've got Cuyahoga Valley slated to make the New Aran Sweater from Red Heart. I NEVER buy RH yarn, but I just think it will be gorgeous in Heartland. Please, never stop making this yarn.

So soft!

I love this yarn. This is my first time working with it and it's so, so soft. The colors are a little heathered and that gives them depth. My hook has split the strands a few times, but that has never really bothered me unless it happens continuously. I ordered it for a baby blanket and I'm not disappointed at all. This may be one of my new favorite yarns!
