Basic Stitch Anti Pilling™ Yarn

SKU: 202-405K

Lion Brand® created Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling™ for all your favorite projects that see a lot of wear and tear. Even before it is spun into a premium 4-ply acrylic, the fiber is treated to resist pilling. And, when pills do form (due to frequent use and washing), no need to pick them off - just throw the item in the washer and the pills disappear.

great reflective yarn for sprang (knotless netting)

I started making lightweight cycling safety vests when a friend found some neon reflective yarn at a creative reuse center and gave it to me. Eventually I switched to basic stitch reflective. This is one of the few products on the market for needleworkers who want to work with reflective yarn. Compared to some other reflective yarns, it's soft and workable. The process I use is sprang/knotless netting, and a common issue can be a sticky warp. That's not a problem with this yarn. I use the volt yellow and atomic pink colorways, which have a slightly different handfeel; the pink is softer.
I wish the skeins were larger, and I wish the neon colors were more vibrant. Compared to neon fabric that is American National Standard for High-Visibility Safety Apparel and Headwear (ANSI) certified ("safety" yellow), the volt yellow is less fluorescent (= less visible).

Basically awesome

Very soft yarn and nice bright white color. Perfect contrast color in baby blankets. Looks perfect in the mulberry Afghan by Toni Lipsey

Love this yarn!

I have made several blankets with this yarn. It’s so soft and doesn’t split and works up so fast. I also love there is so many colors to choose from and that it holds up to washing and lots of use. I will definitely be buying more.

Soft and squishy

Very nice thick yarn. Lovely drape for a blanket I am working on. Wish I had chosen a different color/style though. The colors of the variegated I chose are very pretty but also exceptionally challenging to find a pattern that helps show off the yarn. So, I will definitely buy this yarn again just not in variegated. I also wish it came in a bigger size (perhaps it does and I haven't noticed?)

Flax sweater

I love this knit. I'm excited to be using this yarn. I made a swatch and put through washer and air dried. I'm set to make two more sweaters with this too.
