Serendipity means good luck or fortune in finding things we are not looking for. This is exactly what happened with this pattern for me. I wanted to make a poncho with a shell pattern and suddenly I had this idea for a shawl. And the serendipity shawl was born. It has an absolutely gorgeous lacy pattern. This shawl involves no shaping or sewing and is a joy to make! The fringes are optional, it looks perfect with or without them because of the shell border!
