Any individual or group may participate by sending the hats in one or more packages or cartons postmarked on the same date to the organization\u2019s address which is Hat Not Hate 135 Kero Road, Carlstadt, NJ 07072.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hats must be blue or primarily blue and sized to fit teens to adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The contest is open to those at least eighteen (18) years old in states where it is legal at the time of entry, and internationally, where laws allow. Employees of Lion Brand Yarn Company and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. Package the hats and postmark all packages on the same day and from the same sender to be considered as being from one group or individual.<\/li><li>Ship the hats prepaid to Hat Not Hate<\/li><li>Include a single return address, contact phone and email address for the purpose of notifying the winner or winning group. &nbsp;<\/li><li>All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&nbsp;6.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>How To Win<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On or about August 16, 2019, the Sponsor will select potential winners.&nbsp; The $500 first prize is based on the most donations of blue hand knit or crocheted hats from an individual address, postmarked on the same day during the contest period. &nbsp;The second prize of $250 is based on the second largest donation of blue hand knit and\/or crocheted hats from an individual address, postmarked on the same day during the contest period. A matching donation of $750 will be made to the organization Box Out Bullying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Winner Notification<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner via public announcement on the blog and via email or phone by August 19,2019. If the potential winner cannot be contacted within five (5) days after the date of the first attempt to contact him\/her, the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner in his\/her place based on the next quantity of hats postmarked on a single day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each potential winner (parent\/legal guardian if a minor in his\/her state of residence) will be required to contact a designated representative of Lion Brand Yarn Company within 5 days. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or fails to respond within the required time period an alternate will be chosen. &nbsp;If the potential winner is at least 18 but still considered a minor in his\/her jurisdiction of residence, Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize in the name of his\/her parent or legal guardian, who Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner based on the rules under \u201cHow to Win.\u201d&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&nbsp;8.<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; First prize is $500 for most hats donated at one time and $250 for the second most hats at one time.&nbsp; A matching amount of $750 will be donated to the organization Box Out Bullying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>9.<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>General Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the Contest is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules or (b) terminate the Contest and, in the event of termination, award the prize at random from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages (including attorney\u2019s fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
